ItsJustKeyboard.com ("the app") is a free, browser-based tool. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. In short: the app has no user accounts, and everything you play stays on your own device.
When you grant MIDI access, the notes you play are read and interpreted entirely within your browser, on your device. This data is never transmitted to any server, stored, or shared. Sound generated by the app is produced locally in your browser and is not recorded.
The app saves a few preferences — such as your note-spelling (sharps or flats) and light/dark theme choices — using your browser's local storage. This stays on your device, is not sent anywhere, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
With your consent, the app uses Google Analytics (via Google Firebase) to collect aggregated usage information — for example, page views, general device and browser type, and approximate region. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.
Analytics is off until you accept it. On your first visit we ask, and nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookies are set unless you choose “Accept”. If you decline, the app works exactly the same. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer; if you withdraw consent, the analytics cookies are deleted.
When analytics is enabled it sets cookies (named _ga and
_ga_<id>) containing a randomly generated identifier, and your IP address
is used by Google to estimate your general region. We do not ask for your name or email,
we do not use this data to try to work out who you are, and we do not combine it with any
other information — but because that identifier is persistent, some privacy laws treat
it as personal data, which is why we ask first. Google's handling of this data is governed
by Google's Privacy Policy.
As with any web host, standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request times) may be processed by our hosting provider to deliver and secure the site.
The app does not ask for, collect, or store names, email addresses, or similar personal details, and there are no user accounts. Aside from the analytics and hosting data described above, nothing about you is collected. If you choose to email us, we will only use your message to respond to you.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above.
